Hello from Assoukoko (Togo)

Bonjour! Our first post comes from the Assoukoko Middle School English Club.

Hello,
Assoukoko is situated in West Africa in Togo. Assoukoko is near the mountains, hills, and forest. There are 2,000 people in Assoukoko.

In history class, we learn about Togo’s past. Mr. M is our history teacher. There are 62 students in class. One important part of Togo’s history is the slave trade. Our country got its independence on the 27th of April in 1960. Now our president is Faure Gnassingbe.

We are students. We help our parents by going to the farm on weekends. We work not only during vacation but also during the school year. In our free time we learn our lessons. We also play sports and dance. We like Togolese music, and many people come to the dance parties here.

Our food comes from the farm. Every day we eat fufu. Sometimes we eat dog meat. Our favorite fruit is mangoes. We like to drink Coca Cola.

Thank you Assoukoko English Club! We are so happy to hear from you!
